With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, the stress can start to build up knowing that Christmas is around the corner. Sometimes, we don’t get to truly enjoy the holidays with our families without worry because of this stress.

Sitting down and thinking about what you have to be thankful for can help you kick your stress to the curb. Here are some things that we have in our lives that we can give thanks for.

This is the most obvious thing that the majority of us have to be thankful for. Our families are the people who are there for you for the long haul. They stick by our side through thick and thin, with unconditional love.

Many of us don't even think about giving thanks to our family. They are part of our everyday lives, and we just expect them to always be there. Some people, however, do not have a family and the luxury of having that unconditional love. Hug your family and tell them that you appreciate them. They'll never forget it.


Through our everyday lives, we gain many relationships with many different people. This can be friends, spouses, coworkers, etc. Each person in our lives gives us a different form of satisfaction and happiness.

Regardless of their role, each relationship we have plays a different part in our happiness. Thank those people for what they do and let them know how they make your life better. Even the people who make small differences for you each day would love to know about it.


If you are alive, you should be thankful. If you are healthy, give thanks. This is definitely not something that everyone gets to experience. Many people in our lives struggle with their health.

Each person’s version of being “healthy” can vary. If you're able to get out of bed each day and do the things you want to do, you may consider yourself to be in good health. That in itself is something to be thankful for.

This may be something that you have never thought about during the holiday season. Many of the men and women fighting for our country and freedom are not able to be home for the holidays.

Take some time to think about this, as it may help you to understand the important role that the military play in our lives each day. They are the true unsung heroes.
